about Rolf knell

Rolf Knell, Musician and Art-painter, born in Switzerland, has been visiting Scotland for over 20 years and now he lives  in Portobello Scotland since 2020. His love for the nature and culture of this country continually moves him to bring the magic and primeval nature of Scottish landscapes to canvas.

Knell paints not only Scottish landscape  but also some abstract and surreal images.

For Knell, it is important that the original spirit of the particular landscape or the ground theme touches the viewer again and lets us guess a world behind the apparent reality.
